1. Double Cleansing.

Clean skin is a necessary base for skin- and makeup products. When the intention is to produce the look of the glazed donut, ideally you should start with a double cleanse. How to achieve ‚glazed doughnut skin‘?

Achieving the popular ‚Glazed Doughnut‘ skin texture, or a BIOEFFECT Glow, is simple when using the right products. In short, the skin routine could be described like this:

1. Double cleansing

3. Serum – an active formula increasing moisture retention

An in-depth ‚Glazed Doughnut Skin‘ routine.

1. Double Cleansing.

5. Face Cream.

Finally, it's time to lock the moisture in the skin, much like the method of 'slugging' . For this step, a rich and moisturising cream is applied to the skin. This helps prevent water loss from the skin, but instead of locking in moisture with substances such as Vaseline – as is often done when 'slugging' is involved – the 'glazed doughnut' method uses moisturisers and facial oils instead. This can enhance the efficacy of actives such as retinol, acids, and vitamin C, so it is usually not recommended to use these ingredients alongside 'slugging'.

For some skin types, heavy moisturisers or oils can cause skin irritations. Therefore, it is important that everyone keeps the condition of their skin in mind before choosing a skin product.
